Meet Other Families Just Like Yours

Our Parent Empowerment Program (PEP) allows parents and families to meet and socialize with others who have children with blindness or low vision in an accessible and relaxing atmosphere at our Kids Town Preschool (Louisville) or Family Resource Center (Indianapolis). Our amazing VIPS team and volunteers will care for your children as you learn about topics that could impact your child's life during the training segment of the event. Past topics have included setting up a special needs trust, information on Medicaid waivers, and communication strategies for children who are blind or have low vision. Our goal for the PEP is for you to learn, connect, and know that you are not alone.

In this setting while playing with our children, we moms talked, knowing that we completely understood one another and our lives, and I felt a level of comfort that I don’t find in many places outside my home.

– Rachael, Mother of Jude

Fun for the Entire Family

At the PEP, we welcome siblings and extended family members of your VIPS child so they can meet other kids with blindness/low vision and their families. This is a perfect opportunity for loved ones to learn more about your child in a multi-sensory environment. We'll have a wide array of toys and activities making it fun for everyone! We hope you'll join us at our next PEP!
