A Day of Giving, A Lifetime of Success
June 11 is VIPS’s Day of Giving!
We have a bold goal: raise $74,400 for VIPS on a single day, June 11.
We can't do it without you.
VIPS is the first and only nonprofit in Kentucky and Indiana solely dedicated to early intervention and education for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers who are blind or have low vision. Since 1985, we've been walking alongside families during the most critical years of a child's development. Providing home visits, braille education, orientation and mobility training, and the only full-time preschool in Kentucky designed specifically for children with blindness or low vision.
June 11 is our VIPS Day of Giving, which is a focused, short-term fundraising campaign where people come together to give, share, and rally support for a cause at the same time. The goal is to turn broad awareness into meaningful, transformational change for the children and families we serve at VIPS.
Matching Gifts
Thanks to generous matching gifts from our partners, every $1 you give during the VIPS Day of Giving will be doubled, up to $26,000. Our matching donors include:
- Louisville Downtown Lions Club: $12,500
- Anonymous #1 - $5,000
- Nancy Cannon - $3,000
- Lexington Lions Club: $2,500
- Steve Deeley - $2,000
- Anonymous #2 - $1,000
You can begin donating today and all donations made through June 11 at 11:59 pm are applied to our goal. And the first 25 donors receive a VIPS magnet. People have already started donating so don’t delay.

Interested in becoming a fundraiser for our Day of Giving? Our toolkit includes everything you need to create your fundraising page, manage your campaign, social media content, and communication, and solicit donations. We encourage you to have your fundraising page live by May 28 (two weeks prior to launch).

Incentives for Team Leads
These incentives are specifically designed for individuals who create and lead fundraising teams.
For example, if Little Susie’s mom creates a fundraising team called “Susie’s Saviors,” she would serve as the Team Lead. As the Team Lead, she's the person who shares her VIPS connection story, shares the fundraising page with her network, texts friends and family, and promotes the campaign on platforms like Facebook.
In this model, she, not the individual donors contributing to her page, would be eligible for the Team Lead incentives and prizes listed below.
Peer-to-Peer Team Lead Prizes:
$250 - VIPS Branded Tote Bag
$500 - VIPS T-shirt for the Family
$1,000 - VIPS Yeti
$2,500 - VIPS Camping Chairs - set of 2
$5,000 - Brick in the Garden or Name on Wall of Honor
$10,000 - Birthday Party at VIPS
Top Fundraising Team Prize:
At the end of the Day of Giving, the top fundraising team will win a weekend getaway, choose between a 2-night stay at Big Splash, or a 2-night hotel stay in Chicago, Cincinnati, Nashville, Indianapolis, or Louisville at a 3-star hotel.
