VIPS Visits IU Occupational Therapy Class

Sheila Klopfenstein, Indiana Education Lead and Teacher of the Visually Impaired, and Michelle Flora, Blind/Low Vision Specialist, spent the day with students from the Occupational Therapy Department of IU’s School of Health & Human Services, sharing information about VIPS and how early intervention helps children with blindness or low vision and their families. The students had fun completing various tasks while wearing simulation goggles. The goggles give wearers a sense of what it’s like to experience blindness and low vision. They also learned how vision issues affect learning and how to identify behaviors that may indicate blindness or low vision.

We love connecting with students. Thank you for having us!
